The Friday Fox: A Sparkling Orange Glitter Mocktail Made With Klarity Orange

By Tavo | Klarity | 1 serving | Under 3 minutes

Some drinks are a project. Muddled herbs, infused syrups, a garnish that takes longer than the recipe. This is not one of those drinks.

The Friday Fox is four ingredients, three minutes, and one pinch of food-grade edible glitter. It looks significantly more impressive than the effort required, which is exactly the brief for a Friday evening when you want something in your hand that matches the feeling of the weekend starting.

Klarity Orange as the base. A splash of coconut water. Orange sparkling water for the fizz. Edible glitter because why not. Zero sugar, zero junk, and genuinely pretty in a way that holds up on camera.

Friday sorted.

Why This Mocktail Works

Klarity Orange is the base — six electrolytes, full B complex, Vitamin C, and no added sugar. It provides everything the drink is actually doing under the fun exterior.

Coconut water adds natural potassium and a subtle tropical sweetness that rounds out the orange without adding sugar or changing the colour. One ounce is enough — this is a supporting role, not the main event.

Orange sparkling water carries the fizz and amplifies the citrus profile. Use a good quality, naturally flavoured option with no added sugar. The carbonation keeps the drink light and the orange flavour layered.

Food-grade edible glitter is purely decorative and entirely worth it. It catches the light, it reads on camera, and it costs nothing in terms of flavour. Use a product specifically labelled food-safe or food-grade — not all craft glitters are safe to consume.

Ingredients

(Serves 1)

  • 1 sachet Klarity Orange
  • 120ml orange sparkling water (naturally flavoured, no added sugar)
  • 30ml coconut water (unsweetened)
  • 1 pinch food-grade edible glitter
  • Ice

Directions

Step 1: Dissolve Klarity. Add 1 sachet of Klarity Orange to your glass. Pour in the coconut water and stir until fully dissolved — mixing in still liquid first means the powder dissolves cleanly before you add carbonation.

Step 2: Add sparkling water. Pour in 120ml of orange sparkling water. Stir once, gently.

Step 3: Add ice and glitter. Add ice. Pinch a small amount of food-grade edible glitter directly into the glass. Give it one slow stir to let the glitter distribute — it catches the light better when it's moving through the drink than when it sits on top.

Step 4: Serve immediately. This one loses its sparkle quickly if you leave it sitting. Make it, drink it.

Tips & Notes

On the glitter. Food-grade edible glitter is not the same as craft glitter. Craft glitter — even some labelled "non-toxic" — is not designed for consumption. Look for products specifically sold as food-safe, edible glitter, typically found at baking supply shops. Gold and silver work best in this colour palette. A little goes a long way — err on the side of less.

On the sparkling water. The quality here matters more than you'd expect in a four-ingredient recipe. A good naturally flavoured orange sparkling water adds brightness. A low-quality one with artificial flavouring can taste flat or synthetic alongside the Klarity. Taste test before you commit.

Don't shake it. The instinct with a "sparkly mocktail" is to shake — don't. Shaking a carbonated drink flattens it fast. Stir gently, serve immediately.

Make it for a group. Multiply the Klarity and coconut water, mix in a small jug without carbonation, then pour into individual glasses and top with sparkling water and glitter per glass. Keeps the fizz and lets you serve it properly.

Variations

Add a citrus rim. Run an orange wedge around the rim and dip it in gold sanding sugar for a dressed-up version that photographs particularly well.

Swap orange sparkling water for plain. If orange sparkling water isn't available, plain sparkling water works — the Klarity Orange provides the citrus flavour and the coconut water adds the sweetness. The colour will be slightly lighter.

Add a splash of pineapple juice. 15ml of fresh pineapple juice adds a tropical note that works well with the coconut water and amplifies the festive feel without adding significant sugar.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is food-grade edible glitter?

Food-grade edible glitter is a product specifically manufactured for consumption and sold through baking or food supply retailers. It is made from ingredients like sugar, starch, or mica that are safe to eat. It is not the same as craft glitter — even products labelled "non-toxic" or "cosmetic-grade" are not designed to be consumed. Always check that your glitter is specifically labelled food-safe or edible before using it in drinks or food.

Is this mocktail actually zero sugar?

Klarity Orange contains zero added sugar. The small amount of natural sugar in this recipe comes from the coconut water (approximately 1–2g per 30ml) and any natural sweetness in the orange sparkling water. There are no syrups, added sugars, or sweeteners in this recipe. Check the label of your sparkling water to confirm it contains no added sugar.

Can I make The Friday Fox without coconut water?

Yes. Replace the coconut water with an equal amount of plain sparkling water or just increase the orange sparkling water slightly. The drink becomes slightly less rounded in flavour but holds up well. The coconut water adds potassium and a subtle sweetness — without it, the drink is slightly sharper and more citrus-forward.

Why stir instead of shake?

Shaking a carbonated drink rapidly disperses the CO₂ and significantly reduces fizz. Stirring gently integrates the ingredients without losing the carbonation that makes this drink what it is. If you want a chilled drink, pre-chill the ingredients or add ice before stirring rather than shaking.

Zero sugar. No junk. Feel by design, not by default.
